Program overview — easy to understand

MCPHS’s Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences is a full-time, on-campus degree taught at the Boston campus. Over four years you will learn core biological and chemical sciences, build practical lab skills, and gain knowledge about the pharmaceutical industry and regulations. The degree prepares you to start working in labs, join the biopharma industry, or continue to professional or graduate programs (for example: pharmacy, biomedical research, regulatory affairs).

Your four-year journey (simple)

Year 1 — Foundations

You build core knowledge: general chemistry, cell & molecular biology, calculus, and academic writing. You also learn about healthcare systems and patient communities.

Year 2 — Labs & data

Hands-on lab classes: microbiology, organic chemistry, physics. You study statistics and macroeconomics to understand data and the business context.

Year 3 — Core pharma subjects

Focus on anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical analysis — more applied science and lab projects.

Year 4 — Professional & advanced topics

Ethics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, molecular biology and regulatory affairs. Advanced seminars and a capstone or project prepare you for work or graduate study.
