Youth Skills & Startup Support — Regional Youth Empowerment Programme

A UNDP Asia-Pacific initiative to strengthen youth-led social enterprises, build skills, and scale green & digital solutions across the region.

Overview (in easy points)

  • Donor: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) — Bangkok Regional Hub
  • Objective: Empower youth and support youth-led social enterprises across Asia-Pacific through capacity building and startup support.
  • Scope: Technical support for 20 youth-led startups + 50 workshops (4 hybrid, 46 virtual) reaching ~3,000 young people.
  • Focus Areas (Pillars): Youth Entrepreneurship (Youth Co:Lab), Youth & Climate Action (YECAP), 21st Century & Digital Skills (YDEEP), Youth Civic Engagement, Leave No One Behind (LNOB).
  • Grant Size (project): USD $100,000 — $500,000 (approx. USD 152,400 dedicated to enterprise support)

Startup Support (20 enterprises)

  • Dedicated technical and community service implementation support for selected youth-led social enterprises.
  • Funding allocation and hands-on assistance to strengthen operations and scale impact.
  • Focus areas include: climate change, food security, public health, sustainable agriculture, waste management, and livelihoods.

Workshops & Reach

  • 50 workshops total: 4 hybrid + 46 virtual, delivered under #Movers4GreenJobs and YDEEP initiatives.
  • Topics: climate leadership, workforce readiness, green jobs, digital inclusion, training-of-trainers model for scale.
  • Target reach: at least 3,000 youth across 12 Asia-Pacific countries.
  • At least 50% of participants reserved for underserved or marginalized youth.

Monitoring & Sustainability

  • Robust monitoring and evaluation to measure quality, outcomes, and long-term impact.
  • Training-of-trainers approach to enable replication by youth leaders in local communities.
